NB: This is a very high caffeine dose. A full serving is not appropriate for everyone, including some otherwise healthy adults. Avoid combining it with other caffeine sources, and consider individual tolerance, body weight and medical circumstances before use.

I’ve seen some pretty impressive pre-workout formulas over the years, but this one really is something else.
HR Labs have essentially taken two of their flagship products, DEFIB and PROVEN, and combined them into one seriously powerful formula. The result is arguably one of the most comprehensively dosed pre-workouts I’ve come across.
And yes, that potency is reflected in the price.
But when you look at what’s actually gone into this, I think you can understand why. It’s not simply a pre-workout loaded with caffeine and a handful of token ingredients. There’s a substantial performance formula here too, with ingredients targeting muscular endurance, blood flow, focus and power output.
Just look at some of the dosages. 12g of citrulline malate, 4g of beta-alanine, 3g of tyrosine, 2.5g of betaine and 400mg of PeakATP. There’s some serious thought gone into this formulation.
That said, this certainly isn’t something I’d recommend taking before every workout.
For me, this is more of a special-occasion pre-workout. Those mornings when you’ve got a particularly demanding session planned, you’re feeling fresh, well recovered and you really want to give it absolutely everything.
A proper full-send session!
With 400mg of caffeine in a full serving, I wouldn’t even consider taking this late in the day. In fact, that’s a substantial single dose even for experienced users, and I wouldn’t assume that everyone who tolerates caffeine well should take the full serving.
Sleep and recovery are far too important to compromise for the sake of one workout.
I’d also be mindful that more stimulation doesn’t automatically mean better performance. There’s a point where too much caffeine can become counterproductive, so knowing your own tolerance is essential.
But looking at the formula as a whole, this is an extraordinary product.
Is it the best pre-workout ever made? That’s a pretty bold claim, but when you look at the ingredients and the dosages, I can certainly understand why some people are saying it.
For a big morning session, with the right experience and appropriate stimulant tolerance, this is about as comprehensive as pre-workout formulations get.
And remember, this is a special edition, not a permanent addition to the HR Labs range.
If you’ve had your eye on it, grab it while you can. I don’t expect this one to hang around for long.
