CrampFix’s proprietary formula has been created to contain just the right blend of astringency, pH, and mineral content to provide rapid relief.

CrampFix is a no-mix, liquid formula that provides an almost immediate effect to get rid of cramps that most commonly appear during endurance activities. And if you’re someone who suffers terribly with cramp (as I do when doing any endurance based activity), you’ll know that this should be an essential item in any kit bag.

CrampFix uses the latest research using the TRP Channels to control your muscle cramps. By activating the sensory nerves in the back of your throat, CrampFix treats muscle cramps neurologically and provides almost immediate relief within 30 seconds to 2 minutes. It works as an acute sensory stimulant to oral-pharyngeal reflexes.

Warning: This product does not taste great – but if your in the throes of a bout of cramp, you’ll know that you’re not exactly in a position to savour taste anyway – you just want out of pain…. and fast!

Available in two flavours:

Lemon – strong and sour, salty vinegary taste.

Raspberry – strong but sweet and salty vinegary taste.

Who it’s for:

Always on your feet, battling calves that seize up mid-run, or prepping for an ultra? This is for you – especially if cramps hit during or after endurance sessions.

What it does:

Think of it like a knight in shining armour that leaps to your defence the moment those dreaded cramps strike – when it does, that tiny shot stimulates a reflex in your throat that signals the cramp to stop. No waiting for hydration or electrolytes to kick in – you often feel relief in under a minute.

How I would use it:

Sip 15 ml (the squeeze bottle mark) at the first sign of a spasm – or keep it on hand during long outings. Doesn’t need to be swallowed fully; let it linger in your mouth for a second or two before swallowing. No mixing, no mess, just immediate cramp rescue.

The Science

Pickle juice (acetic acid) quickly reduces electrically induced cramps

Study: Reflex inhibition of electrically induced muscle cramps in hypohydrated humans.

Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise (2010)

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19997012

In a placebo-controlled study, induced cramps stopped an average of 49 seconds sooner when participants ingested pickle juice versus water – despite no change in blood electrolytes. The fast effect is attributed to an oropharyngeal reflex triggered by acetic acid, not electrolyte rebalancing.

A sip of pickle brine significantly lowers cramp severity in real-world cramp sufferers

Study: Pickle Juice Intervention for Cirrhotic Cramps Reduction Trial.

The American Journal of Gastroenterology (2022)

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35416793

In this RCT involving 82 participants with frequent cramps, a single tablespoon of pickle juice at cramp onset produced a 2.25 point drop in cramp severity (on a 10-point scale) compared to a 0.36-point drop with tap water (p = 0.03). Importantly, there were no adverse effects.
