Per4M Liquid Chalk is a fast-drying, mess-free grip solution designed for athletes, lifters, and climbers.

Its advanced formula eliminates the need for traditional chalk dust, providing a clean and efficient grip for heavy lifts and intense workouts. The quick-drying application ensures superior control over barbells, dumbbells, and pull-up bars.

Ideal for gym-goers and athletes, it helps combat sweaty palms and enhances grip strength. Compact and long-lasting, it’s the essential training companion for those looking to smash their fitness goals with confidence.

Ingredients

Isopropyl Alcohol: Acts as a solvent to dissolve other ingredients and aids in quick evaporation.
Magnesium Carbonate: Provides the primary grip-enhancing component, similar to traditional chalk.
Aqua (Water): Used as a solvent to dissolve and mix the ingredients.
Gum Rosin: A natural resin that helps in forming a film on the skin, enhancing grip.
Methyl Cellulose: A thickening agent that improves the texture and consistency of the product.

Liquid chalk is an absolute necessity for Summer pull workouts.

Think of it this way… look at the size of your muscles in your back, then compare them to your measly forearms, you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to see that your forearms are going to be the limiting factor in pulling movements such as rows, pulldowns, chins and deadlifts.

Yes, you could opt for lifting straps… and on top sets I still recommend that you do. But on the warm up sets and lighter sets, leave the straps in the bag and use chalk – your forearms and grip strength will thank you for it later!

The Science:

Magnesium carbonate chalk improves grip endurance and pull-up performance

Study: Effect of Magnesium Carbonate Use on Repeated Open‑Handed and Pinch Grip Weight‑Assisted Pull‑Ups.

International Journal of Exercise Science (2018)

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29541333

In this controlled trial, recreationally trained participants performed weight-assisted pull-ups using chalk vs. no chalk. Chalk significantly increased reps to failure:

Open‑hand grip: 22.8 ± 4.5 reps (with chalk) vs. 19.7 ± 4.4 reps (no chalk) (p = 0.006)
Pinch‑grip: 14.4 ± 4.5 reps vs. 9.1 ± 4.8 reps (p = 0.007)
This demonstrates that chalk directly enhances grip endurance during back/pull exercises.

Chalk use increases hang time and allows longer rest positioning during climbing

Study: The Effect of Magnesium Carbonate (Chalk) on Geometric Entropy, Force, and Electromyography During Rock Climbing.

Journal of Applied Biomechanics (2016)

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/27619723

In experienced climbers climbing with vs. without chalk, participants could hang significantly longer (62.9 ± 36.7 s vs. 49.3 ± 25.2 s, p = 0.046) – even though friction coefficients and EMG activity did not change. This suggests chalk helps prolong grip endurance, allowing longer planning/rest phases during climbs.
