Let’s look at sleep as a whole…

A high percentage of the population are struggling with their sleep at present, we live in a fight or flight world and most people don’t allow time to process thoughts, feelings and emotions until they rest their head on their pillow at night.

Per4M Relax WON’T fix this!

But it will help you relax you as part of a well-thought out nightly regime designed to help you unwind after a busy day.

Most people just go, go, go until they drop – they don’t give the ‘bedtime build-up’ the respect it deserves…

So if you’re tempted to use Per4M Relax, also try switching devices off 60-90 mins prior to bedtime, reading a fiction book, or maybe carrying out a meditation/breathwork practice – and give yourself every opportunity to be in a better place to get a calm, peaceful and rejuvenating night’s sleep.

Who it’s for:

Ideal for busy individuals seeking a natural way to wind down at the end of the day, manage stress and improve sleep quality.

What it does:

Supports relaxation and stress management, making it the perfect end to a busy day. Each serving delivers a blend of 600mg KSM-66 Ashwagandha and 200mg L-Theanine, both known for their stress-reducing properties. The addition of magnesium, chamomile, and reishi mushroom extract further enhances its calming effects, helping you relax without feeling drowsy.

How I would use it:

Here’s what I’d do if I was keen to try this product…

1hr prior to bedtime – devices off (including TV) and take a shower.

This signifies the end of your ‘work’ day and the start of your pre-bed routine.

Mix 15g of ‘Relax’ powder with 150-200ml of hot water, stir well, and enjoy whilst reading a fiction book that takes your mind off your day.

As soon as you start to feel drowsy, pop your bookmark into the book, brush your teeth, then lie in bed focusing on some breath work, nice long exhalations, relaxing the body and sinking into the mattress with every breath out.

If I do this, I’m lucky to get to double figures when counting sheep!

The Science:

Ashwagandha extract improves sleep quality, efficiency & latency

Study: A randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study to evaluate the effects of ashwagandha extract on sleep quality in healthy adults.

Sleep Medicine (2020)

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32540634

In this trial involving 150 adults experiencing non‑restorative sleep, participants took 120mg standardised ashwagandha extract daily for 6 weeks. Compared to placebo, the treatment group reported a 72% improvement in self-reported sleep quality vs. 29%, alongside objective gains in sleep efficiency, total sleep time, and reduced sleep latency and wake-after-sleep-onset – all achieved with no adverse effects.

L‑Theanine supplementation improves sleep onset, quality & reduces light sleep

Study: The effects of L-Theanine supplementation on quality of sleep in adults: systematic review.

Proceedings of the Nutrition Society (2023)

https://www.mdpi.com/2504-3900/91/1/32

This systematic review examined clinical trials using 50-655 mg L‑Theanine, alone or with GABA and similar actives. Studies showed significant improvements in sleep onset latency, total sleep time, sleep efficiency, overall sleep quality, and daytime functioning (all p < 0.05), with few side effects reported.
