SiS REGO Cherry Juice Recovery Gel is a concentrated Montmorency tart cherry juice designed to support recovery following training and competition.
Unlike traditional recovery products that focus on protein and carbohydrates, REGO Cherry Juice is centred around the naturally occurring anthocyanins, flavonoids and melatonin found in Montmorency cherries.
These compounds have been widely researched for their potential role in reducing muscle soreness, supporting recovery and improving sleep quality.
SiS recommends using REGO Cherry as part of a wider recovery strategy, particularly around periods of intense training or competition.

This is quite a different product to your typical recovery supplement.
Most people think recovery is all about protein, and whilst protein is hugely important, it’s only one piece of the puzzle. Recovery is also about managing muscle damage, inflammation and getting quality sleep, particularly if you’re training hard on consecutive days.
That’s where tart cherry juice comes in.
REGO Cherry Juice isn’t designed to replace your post-workout protein shake or recovery meal. I see it as something that complements them.
What I like is its simplicity. It’s made from 100% Montmorency cherry juice concentrate, so there aren’t any unnecessary fillers or complicated ingredient blends. You’re simply getting a concentrated source of naturally occurring compounds that have been researched for their role in recovery.
One thing that’s often overlooked is that the research doesn’t generally support taking tart cherry only after exercise. Many of the better studies actually began supplementation several days before the event.
So if you’ve got a marathon, Hyrox/Crossfit competition, football tournament or a particularly demanding training block coming up, that’s where I’d be looking to use a product like this.
I also like the fact that Montmorency cherries naturally contain melatonin. Better sleep generally leads to better recovery, and better recovery usually means better performance the next time you train/compete.
I wouldn’t say everyone needs this product, but if you’re someone who trains hard, competes regularly or has several demanding sessions close together, I think it can be a worthwhile addition to your recovery strategy.
The Science:
“Precovery” versus recovery: Understanding the role of cherry juice in exercise recovery
Study: This review examined the evidence surrounding tart cherry juice supplementation for exercise recovery, including muscle function, soreness, inflammation and the optimal timing of supplementation.
Scandinavian Journal of Medicine & Science in Sports, 2022
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35119142/
The review concluded that tart cherry juice consistently enhances recovery of muscle function when consumed for several days before strenuous exercise. It also highlighted that timing is critical, with evidence supporting a “precovery” approach rather than starting supplementation only after exercise.
Tart cherry supplementation and recovery from strenuous exercise: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Study: This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the effects of tart cherry supplementation on muscle soreness, muscle function and recovery following strenuous exercise.
International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism, 2021
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33440334/
The analysis found that tart cherry supplementation can accelerate the recovery of muscle function following strenuous exercise and may reduce perceived muscle soreness, supporting its use during periods of heavy training or competition.
